PEDIATRIC
PEDIATRIC MASSAGE is a complementary and alternative treatment that use massage therapy, or “the manual manipulation of soft tissue intended to promote health and well-being” for children and adolescents. Its goal is to reduce pain, anxiety, loneliness and fear when children are hospitalized or diagnosed with a debilitating medical condition. Pediatric massage takes into consideration each child’s individual physical development, cognitive development and health care needs.
PEDIATRIC WATSU® is a water therapy which applies the Zen Shiatsu principle of stretching the body’s meridians and applying gentle pressure to the body in a warm and comforting aquatic environment. The child receives continuous, nurturing support while being floated, cradled, rocked and gently stretched and the child experiences the deeply relaxing effects of warm water. Moments of stillness alternate with rhythmical flowing movements which free the body in ways impossible on land.
PEDIATRIC REFLEXOLOGY is an alternative therapy that stimulates the reflex areas of the feet and hands that correspond to the glands, organs and other parts of the body. Applying pressure on these areas helps release congestion and restores the body homeostasis. It’s helps to relieve pain, discomfort and stress. The process clears toxins stored in the body and boosts circulation. Children respond remarkably well to a Reflexology session, and often the response is very fast.
