WATSU®
Watsu® applies the Zen Shiatsu principles of stretching the body’s meridians and applying gentle pressure to the body in a warm and comforting aquatic environment. The Watsu® practitioner guides your body through a series of movements that relieve stress and physical ailments such as arthritis, low back pain, and fibromyalgia.
The pool is heated to facilitate gentle muscle manipulation so that while you are floating and being supported and held, this relieves much of the weight off of the vertebrae and allows the spine to be moved in ways that are impossible on land. The physical connection made during Watsu® and the soothing comfort of the water aids in the emotional release of the pain stored within our bodies.
Watsu® was developed in 1980 by Harold Dull at Harbin Hot Springs in California and is practiced throughout the world by professionals who have completed an extensive certification process.
*Watsu® is available for both adult and pediatric clients.
